Probation

Probation Period

Probation periods last 3-6 months as common practice but are not mandatory in the Philippines.

After the 6-month period or the contracted probation period, whichever is shorter, the employee will be deemed a regular employee (permanent or fixed-term) unless the employment is terminated or the probation is extended first.

Extension of Probation

Probation extensions are possible however the total probation period must not exceed 6 months unless absolutely necessary. If you see an extension of probation as absolutely necessary, please inform GT Zendesk in advance of the probation end date.

Any extensions of probation requires agreement with the employee.

Termination During Probation Period

We strongly advise that you raise any performance or behavioural issues to GT Zendesk during the probation period as soon as issues start to arise.

If you are considering terminating an employee before or at the end of the probation period, please contact GT Zendesk and the HR team will advise you of the appropriate termination option. It is important that you do not communicate a termination to an employee until Global Teams has informed you that you can proceed with communication.
