Working Hours

Working Hours & Overtime

The standard working hours per week for office workers in the Philippines is 40 hours (8 hours per day between Monday to Friday) but employees' work hours will depend on their employment contract.

Unless stated otherwise in the employment contract or the employee is a senior manager:

For every hour an employee works above the standard 8 hours on a weekday, the employee will be paid at a rate of 125% of their hourly rate.

If you require an employee to work on a weekend, the employee will be entitled to a pay rate of 130% of their regular daily rate wages

Employees will be entitled to 110% of their regular hourly rate for every hour worked between 10PM-6AM.

Part-time Working

With your instruction, Global Teams can transfer an employee from full-time to part-time work, but only for a valid reason, with proper notice, and with the employee's written agreement.

Part-time employees are entitled to the same statutory benefits as full-time employees but on a pro-rata basis. This includes special holidays and annual leave.

Any changes in an employee's standard work hours, as any changes to the employment contract must be:

agreed by both parties

amended by Global Teams as the employer of record.

If this is relevant to your employee, contact GT Zendesk.

Fixed-Term Contracts

Employees remain an employee of Global Teams up to the specified end date in their employment agreement. Fixed-term employment, including extensions of fixed-term contracts, must be signed by both the employer and the employee without improper pressure, to be in effect. Termination of a fixed-term contract follows the same process as permanent employees and notice periods are dependent on their employment contract. Please contact GT Zendesk if you are having issues with a fixed-term employee and/or considering termination.
